SWALLOWING SURFACES ; IF THEY SWELL. Glass casting. YUCCA VALLEY MATERIAL LAB. 2019

This project was realized at Yucca Valley Material Lab (USA) as part of Étant Donnés residency program of the FACE Foundation in partnership with INSTITUT FRANÇAIS (2019).

The project Swallowing surfaces; if they swell explores and questions existing and/or potential relationships between the living and the non-living that can be applied to the principles of metamorphosis implemented in Laure Vigna's sculptural work.

In the Mojave Desert and in a context of learning glass casting, this project studies desert narratives and mythologies of transformation through the representation of bodies in native and contemporary legends related to the territory of Southern California, thus illustrating the transition from one state to another within the same continuity.
